Michael Santillo is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor with thirty years of experience in the behavioral health field. He has designed, implemented and supervised a wide array of treatment and recovery support services including: residential and outpatient substance use and mental disorders treatment programs, medication-assisted treatment programs, recovery/sober housing services, jail and prison re-entry programs, primary care services, Opioid Overdose Recovery Programs and the first Recovery Community Center in the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Santillo has worked as a consultant to the New Jersey Administrative Courts and Public Defenders office. He has served as a member of SAMHSA’s State Best Practices Opioid Misuse, Prevention and Treatment Panel, SAMHSA’s Recovery Research and Evaluation Technical Expert Panel, NJ Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services Professional Advisory Committee, NJ Bringing Recovery Supports to Scale Technical Assistance Center Strategy Policy Academy, Administrative Office of the Courts Drug Court Treatment Subcommittee, Ammon Foundation Advisory Council, Coalition for Addiction Recovery Supports Advisory Committee, National Council for Behavioral Health Addiction Committee, and President of the Association of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Halfway Houses of NJ.
Mr. Santillo is frequently sought out as a thought leader and subject-matter expert in the field of addiction and recovery, recovery-orientated systems of care and the integration of primary care, behavioral health and recovery support services.
